The Discrimination (Jersey) Law 2013 (the Discrimination Law) was adopted in 2013 and came into force on 1 September 2014. It currently provides protection against discrimination on the grounds of race, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity.
On 12 April 2016, the Minister for Social Security presented an amendment to the Employment (Jersey) Law 2003 that would introduce employment protection for armed forces reservists as well as a number of other employment law changes (Amendment No.10).
Legislation to protect against discrimination on the grounds of sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity was introduced in Jersey on 1 September 2015. Similar legislation has been in place in Guernsey since 2006 (with the exclusion of sexual orientation).
