Employment history:

Helen is Head of the Employment Practice Area, Jersey at Mourant Ozannes. She specialises in all aspects of employment law with a particular emphasis on high value, complex dismissals. Helen trained and qualified as an English Solicitor in 1998 (currently non-practising). Prior to joining Mourant Ozannes in 2001, Helen worked in both private practice and as a senior in-house lawyer for a UK public sector body.

Helen trained and qualified as an English solicitor (currently non-practising) in 1998 prior to joining Mourant Ozannes in 2001 when she became instrumental in building the firm's employment practice. Helen qualified as a Jersey advocate in 2008.

Helen is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is Chairman of the Employment Forum, an independent, statutory body which is responsible for consulting and making recommendations on developments in employment law.

Helen also advises on all aspects of data protection law. Helen, together with Mathew Cook, leads Mourant Ozannes' data protection team and has recently been appointed as legal advisor to the States of Jersey Scrutiny Sub-Panel which is considering amendments to Jersey's data protection law.

Helen also jointly leads the firm's competition law team which advises on all aspects of the Competition (Jersey) Law 2005. Helen has been involved in a number of the applications to the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority under the merger approval provisions of the law. In addition, Helen and the team have significant experience in other aspects of Jersey's competition regime, including advising on matters relating to possible abuses of dominant positions, anti-competitive arrangements generally and the procedures relating to JCRA's powers to conduct "dawn raids".

Helen regularly advises on corporate and commercial matters (both contentious and non-contentious) and on business set-up in Jersey including regulation of undertakings and related matters.
