Working with Slaughter and May, Mourant Ozannes (Robert Hickling and Paul Martin) has acted as Jersey counsel to the INEOS group, the world's fourth largest chemicals producer in relation to the Jersey aspects of certain recent transactions, including:

  • the establishment of new joint venture partnerships with PetroChina, China's largest listed oil and gas producer, in relation to refining operations in Grangemouth (Scotland) and Lavéra (France).

  • the offering of US$1 billion fixed rate and EUR 500 million floating rate senior notes (the net proceeds of which were applied in prepayment of a significant part of the INEOS group's term debt under its senior credit facilities agreement; and

  • a new US $2,375 million and EUR 500 million 'covenant-lite' term B loan agreement and an offering of US $775 million fixed rate senior notes for the purposes of refinancing all outstanding amounts under the INEOS group's existing senior facilities agreement.
